Mission Trips, Projects, and more....

Our youth are very mission oriented and love helping others.  Our work is not limited to mission trips though!  We have mission opportunities throughout the year and will post when a project or special assistance is needed by someone in our congregation and/or community.  If you like doing mission work - you have come to the right place!

Mission Trips

Every summer, we leave our little corner of the world and travel to another location for mission work.  We work with an organization called TeamEffort in different locations across the U.S. to provide help for those people who need it.

Here are some of the locations that we have been:

2006 - Gulfport, MS (Hurricane cleanup)

2007 - Copperhill, TN

2008 - Spencer, TN

2009 - Eureka Springs, AR

2010 - Waynesville, GA

2011 - New Orleans, LA

Along with our mission trip, we meet about once a month (sometimes more) and help out in our community, at our church and we make sure to have at least one fun activity a month.  Listed below is our of our mission projects and other activities that we have done and currently participate in:

MISSION PROJECTS
Souper Bowl of Caring - collecting can goods for Kaufman Christian Help Center or money for RX cards that will benefit  the patients seen at the Health Clinic at St. Ann's Church.

Kaufman N.E.A.T. - This program is organized by the City of Kaufman and provides help for elderly members of our community in yard clean up, painting.  In 2011, we assisted  our United Methodist Men at a ladies house where they built a wheelchair ramp and then we cleaned up her yard.

Soup Kitchen - which meets the first Friday of every month with a couple of exceptions throughout the year.  We provide food, water, and fellowship in conjunction with the St. Luke's Free Health Clinic that meets at St. Ann's church.  We have been performing this ministry for over a year now and the response has been amazing.
We meet at the church at 5:00 pm to prepare the food for that evening.  We transport the food to the clinic location about 6:00 pm and serve those waiting to see the doctors.
This ministry is open to anyone of any age, not just the youth group!

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

Our youth also help out with our children's Vacation Bible School program, Halloween on Houston Street, Scarecrow parade, Holyween Carnival.

FUN ACTIVITIES:

Paintball, Backyard BBQ, Barn Dance, Bowling, Movies, Geocashing, and plenty of other fun things.
